I would just like to thank Dr Katy Ammar, for the amazing treatment and care I received from her before, during and after my posterior repair operation. I have just had my 6 week check-up and everything is fine and I feel really well and that is all thanks to Dr Ammar. I was a really nervous patient and Dr Ammar and her team put me at ease, Dr Ammar visited me personally on Swift ward just before and after my operation, everything was explained in detail by her and my fears calmed, I felt much more relaxed after that visit and I knew I was in safe hands. Thank you again so much for your patience, your calming influence and the excellent care you gave me.

Miss Katy Ammar is an extraordinary doctor. She saw me through a difficult pregnancy and later the removal of an ovarian cyst. I first met her at the ante-natal clinic at Epsom Hospital. I had been referred to her as I was on medication for chronic migraine. She took great interest in my case, carefully going through my neurologist's notes and recommending a change of medication. This change not only removed any possible risk to my baby, but also vastly improved the management of my migraine. It was a very clever decision. Miss Ammar is remarkably dedicated and she visited me on the maternity ward after the birth of my baby even though she was not due to be on the ward that day. She also made sure she attended theater when I had to have a D&C when I hemorrhaged 10 days after the birth, assisting the surgeon who was on duty. I felt very reassured by her presence. During a routine pregnancy scan it was discovered that I had a large ovarian cyst. This had to be monitored frequently during my pregnancy. Miss Ammar dealt with this so sensitively and kindly, giving me excellent advice on how it should be treated both during and after my pregnancy. She never dismissed a worry or question, taking my concerns very seriously and giving her considered advice based on my particular situation. When a post-natal scan revealed a cancer risk, Miss Ammar saw me very swiftly. She reassured me with great care and made sure all the relevant investigations were done as soon as possible. For the surgery I was fortunate enough to see Miss Ammar privately at Ashstead Hospital. She showed the same exceptional warmth and dedication to me and my family there. During the operation she discovered that the cyst was due to widespread endometriosis and the operation took much longer than anticipated. However, Miss Ammar still stayed at the hospital until I was round from the anaesthetic so that she could personally explain her findings to my husband and I. The scars from the key-hole surgery were incredibly neat and are now pretty much invisible. I was up and walking very quickly with no problems. There is much more I could say, but fundamentally Miss Ammar is amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend her to my mother or sister.

I was operated on by Miss Ammar for an anterior and posterior repair at Epsom hospital on 17 December. Prior to the operation an appointment was arranged for Miss Ammar to meet with me and she explained in detail what was required and also highlighted the possible risks. She engaged fully with me in a warm but very professional manner. Her confidence in her skills and knowledge was very reassuring. On the day of admission she spoke with me just before going into theatre and this very personal approach was effective in allowing me to feel valued as an individual. She was apologetic that she would not be available for a post operative discussion as she would be on leave. I had on one night in hospital and all went extremely well. I have just been for my follow up appointment and Miss Ammar was again warm and highly professional. She confirmed that the operation had been a great success and I left feeling that I had received an excellent service from Miss Ammar and her team. I have already recommended her to a friend as I do not believe you could get a better service and care anywhere else. I also felt very happy to be in the hands of a female surgeon who clearly understood my body. This is the NHS at its absolute best.

I was reffered to see Dr Ammar, and I cannot praise her enough, she was extremely professional and kind each time willing to listen and understand what I was going through. Dr Ammar had performed surgery on me and everything was explained to me in great detail leaving me to feel extremely positive of Dr Ammar. Dr Ammar has been amazing and has really helped me. Thank you to Dr Ammar and her fabulous team for being such wonderful and empathetic professionals.
